Reporting
The IAM Reporting feature is used to generate and download reports from your organization.
- To access Reporting click the Reporting button on the Home page. Alternatively, you can click the menu button, click your organization name, and then click Reporting.

Accessing Reports for Dayforce Users
You can access the Reporting feature by clicking the Reporting button on the Home page. Alternatively, you can click the menu button, click Administration, and then click Reporting.
Accessing Reports for IAM Client Administrator Users
You can access the Reporting feature by clicking your organization's name, and then clicking Reporting.
Report Buttons Top
When the Reporting page is displayed, there are standard options at the top of the page to manage the report forms.
The buttons are described below.
- Pin – Pins the selected report settings preventing changes to the report options.

Add/Remove Filter – Used to add or remove the selection of filters from the report. If a filter option is cleared, the filter option is removed from the list of filter options on the report page. Likewise, the corresponding column is removed from the report spreadsheet.
- Reset – Clears previous selections and resets the Reporting page to the default layout.
- Download – Used to download the report results into an Excel spreadsheet (XLSX or XLS). The results in Microsoft Excel can be sorted, filtered, etc. as desired. The spreadsheet is downloaded into the default Download folder on your computer. The Excel file will be named for the report and the date on which the report was run in YYYY-MM-DD format with no spaces. For example:

Report Types and Filter Options Top
The types of reports offered in IAM Reporting are:
- Organization Level
- User Management
- Event Reports
Organization Level Reports
These reports display Organization level reports without user details.
Organization Level Reports included in IAM are:
- Organization Profile Report – This report provides high-level information about an organization such as the organization type, status, authentication type, products, and user roles assigned to the organization.
- Data Item Report – This report displays the data items, such as PSIDs and FEINs, available to an organization.
- Organization Profile Product Crosstab Report – Displays organizations and the attributes with product names they have enabled. The report shows the products by default. To include the attributes associated with a product, you can click the Add/Remove Filter button and select Attribute.
User Management Reports
These reports display detailed information about users.
User Management reports included in IAM are:
- Locked User Report – This report displays the status of user accounts including the user ID, username, the user’s email address, whether the user’s account is locked, and whether the user’s status is enabled or disabled.
- User Authorization Report – This report displays user information for auditing to show what roles, attributes, and data items are assigned to a user.
- User Authorization Crosstab Report – This report displays which users are authorized to use specific products and displays attributes assigned to the users for the selected product. You can run the report for one product per report.
- Suspended MFA User – This report displays user information to show which roles have been excluded from Multifactor Authentication (MFA).
Event Reporting
Event reports show information about events such as changes by or to user accounts including event types, event descriptions, names, email addresses, dates, and times of the events.
Events included in Event Reporting are:
- User – Login/Product Usage – This report shows dates and times when users logged in and out and when a partner product is selected from the IAM home page, over a specified date range.
- Users using a direct URL to access Dayforce Tax are not captured in Product Usage reports.
- User – Account Reset – This report shows the dates and times when a user’s account was reset. This includes when a security code or Welcome email was sent, over a specified date range.
- User – Properties by User – This report shows changes to user account properties including the dates, times, old values, and new values for all data on the user’s master profile, over a specified date range.
- User – Properties by ModifiedByUser – This report shows changes to user account properties including the dates, times, old values, and new values as well as information about the user account that made the changes for all data on the user’s master profile, over a specified date range.
- User – Role/Attribute/Data Item by User – This report shows changes to user roles, attributes, and data items over a specified date range.
- User – Role/Attribute/Data Item by ModifiedByUser – This report shows changes to user roles, attributes, and data items as well as well as information about the user account that made the changes over a specified date range.
- Org – Properties By ModifiedByUser – This report shows changes to organization properties including the dates, times, old values, and new values as well as information about the user account that made the changes for all organization data, over a specified date range.
- Org – Data Item By ModifiedByUser – This report shows changes to organization data items (PSID, FEIN, parent, district, and descriptions) including the dates, times, old values, and new values as well as information about the user account that made the changes for all organization data, over a specified date range.
- Org Product/Role/Attribute By ModifiedByUser – This report shows changes to organization product assignments and role/attribute changes including the dates, times, old values, and new values as well as information about the user account that made the changes to the organization’s products, roles, and attributes over a specified date range.
- User – Consolidated Report By User – This report provides reports for a single organization, user, or a combination of an organization and user. The reports show changes to user accounts sorted by user. The following reports have been added to the consolidated report:
- User - Account Reset
- User - Login/Product Usage
- User - Properties By User
- User - Role/Attribute/Data Item By User
- User – Consolidated Report by ModifiedByUser – This report shows user reports for a single organization, user, or a combination of an organization and user. The reports show changes to user accounts sorted by the user that modified the account. The following reports have been added to the consolidated report:
- User - Properties By ModifiedByUser
- User - Role/Attribute/Data item By ModifiedByUser
- Org – Consolidated Report – This report shows Org reports for a single organization, user, or a combination of an organization and user. The reports show changes to an organization sorted by the user account responsible for making the changes. The following reports have been added to the consolidated report:
- Org-Properties By ModifiedByUser
- Org-Data Item By ModifiedByUser
- Org-Product/Role/Attribute ByModifiedByUser
- Org-DataItemProfile By ModifiedByUser
Note: The main difference between the Properties by User and the Properties by ModifiedByUser or the Role/Attribute/Data Item by User and the Role/Attribute/Data Item by ModifiedByUser reports is which user made the changes. For example, to see changes for a user, select the Properties by User report. To see changes a user made to another user, select the Properties by ModifiedByUser report.
Filter Options
Filter options indicate what fields or types of data are contained in the report. When you select a report, certain filter options are loaded for you automatically. The filter options reflect exactly what information types the report contains. For example, the Product filter option corresponds to the Product column in the report spreadsheet when it is generated. You can make choices about which filters or report columns to include on a report and what information can be used within that filter. For example, if you want to include the Product column on the report, you can then select which products you want to include in that column. If you do not select specific products, all products will be shown on the report.
The Org Name and Org ID filter options cannot be removed as they are required for the report.
Any options shown with an asterisk (*) next to them indicate that you must make a selection.
Warning: The information entered in the filter options can result in no information being displayed in the report if the information entered is incorrect or the information entered does not return any results. For example, selecting Powerpay in the Product field and a User Status of Inactive will result in an empty or blank report if you have no inactive users assigned to the Powerpay product.
Add or Remove Filter Options
Certain filter options are loaded automatically when you select a report. However, you can change the filter options for a report using the Add/Remove Filter button.
- To change the default filter options on a report, click the Add/Remove Filter button.
- Select the filter options you want to include on the report or clear the check box to remove the selection.
When viewing the report screen for a report, you will notice that some filter options are shown but you cannot select them or make changes to the filter parameters. These filter options provide pre-determined data on the report spreadsheet when you run the report. For example, the User ID, User Last/First Name, and User Email filter options appear on the User Authorization report but cannot be edited. When the report runs, all user IDs, names, and email addresses that match the other criteria selected in the report are listed.
Some filter options, when selected in the Add/Remove Filter list, enable other filter options automatically. For example, if the User Email filter option is selected, the User ID filter option is automatically selected as well. Likewise, selecting the Data Item type filter option, will cause the PSID and FEIN filter options to be selected automatically as well. This is to provide the necessary context for information contained in the report.
In the tables below, we show you which filter options are selected by default for each report and which filter options cause the automatic selection of other filter options. Note that the relationship is not necessarily reciprocal. For example, just because selecting the User Email filter option automatically causes the User ID filter option to be selected, does not mean that selecting the User ID filter option will cause the User Email filter option to be selected.

In the sections below, we show you how to run each type of report. While we use the default filter options for our examples, you can use the Add/Remove Filter button to change the filter options as needed.
Organization Profile Report
The Dayforce Organization Profile Report is available to any Dayforce role.
- To access the report, click the Reporting button on the Home page.
- In the Report Type list, select Organization Level.
- In the Report Name field, select Organization Profile Report.
- In the Org Name field, type the name of the organization.
You can type a minimum of the first 2 characters of the organization name to populate the list with organizations that begin with those first 2 characters. The more of the name you type, the more the list of matching names is narrowed. Alternatively, you can leave the Org Name field set to All to run the report against all organization names. - In the Org ID field, type the ID of the organization.
You can type a minimum of the first 2 characters of the organization ID to populate the list with organizations that begin with those first 2 characters. The more of the ID you type, the more the list of matching IDs is narrowed. Alternatively, you can leave the field set to All to include both types of organizations. - In the Product field, select the products that you want to include in the report.
When a product is selected it is added to the Product field. You can click X to remove that product from the Product field. Alternatively, you can leave the Product field set to All to include all products in the report. - In the Attribute field, select the product attributes that you want to include in the report.
When an attribute is selected, it is added to the Attribute field. You can click X to remove that product from the Attribute field. Alternatively, you can leave the Attribute field set to All to include all products in the report. -
You can choose from All, Active, or Inactive. Active is selected by default. When a status is selected, it is added to the Org Status field. Click X to remove selected roles from the Org Status field. - Click Download Report to run the report.
The report is downloaded to your default download folder. Browse to the download folder and double-click the report to open it. If your web browser supports it, you can click on the download in your browser’s download status bar.
Data Item Report
The Data Item Report is available to any Dayforce role.
- To access the report, click the Reporting button on the Home page.
- In the Report Type list, select Organization Level.
- In the Report Name field, select Data Item Report.
- In the Org Name field, type the name of the organization.
You can type a minimum of the first 2 characters of the organization name to populate the list with organizations that begin with those first 2 characters. The more of the name you type, the more the list of matching names is narrowed. Alternatively, you can leave the Org Name field set to All to run the report against all organization names. - In the Org ID field, type the ID of the organization.

Alternatively, you can leave the FEIN field set to All to run the report against all FEIN s in the selected organization. - In the Parent FEIN field, select Yes or No to indicate whether the FEIN is a parent FEIN or leave the option set to All to include FEINs regardless of whether they are a parent FEIN.
- In the PSID/FEIN Status field, select Active or Inactive to include active or inactive PSID or FEINs in the report. Alternatively, you can leave the PSID/FEIN Status field set to All to include both active and inactive PSID/FEINs.

Locked User
The Locked User Report is available to any Dayforce role.
- To access the report, click the Reporting button on the Home page.
- In the Report Type list, select User Management.
- In the Report Name list, select Locked User Report.
- In the Org Name field, type the name of the organization.
You can type a minimum of the first 2 characters of the organization name to populate the list with organizations that begin with those first 2 characters. The more of the name you type, the more the list of matching names is narrowed. Alternatively, you can leave the Org Name field set to All to run the report against all organization names. - In the Org ID field, type the ID of the organization.

- In the User Default Send Event Update Email field, select Yes to include users that have the Send Event Update Emails option enabled or select No to include users that do not have the Send Event Update Emails option enabled. Alternatively, you can leave the option set to All to include users with the option either enabled or disabled.
- In the Product field, select the products that you want to include in the report.
When a product is selected it is added to the Product field. You can click X to remove that product from the Product field. Alternatively, you can leave the Product field set to All to include all products in the report. - In the User IAM Role field, select the user IAM roles that you want to include in the report.
When a status is selected, it is added to the User Status field. Click X to remove selected roles from the User Status field. Choose from:- Customer Admin

- In the User Product Role field, select the product user roles that you want to include in the report.

User – Account Reset
The User – Account Reset Reports event report captures the details of account resets such as the user’s name and email address, who modified the account, the date and time of the event and more.
The steps for running this report are the same as those used when running the User – Login/Product Usage report shown above.

Client Reports Top
In the sections below, we show you how to run each type of report. While we use the default filter options for our examples, you can use the Add/Remove Filter button to change the filter options as needed.
Organization Profile Report
The Dayforce Organization Profile Report is available to the Customer IAM Admin role.
- To access the report, click the Reporting button on the Home page.
- In the Report Type list, select Organization Level.
- In the Report Name field, select Organization Profile Report.
- In the Org Default Send Event Update Email field, select Yes to include organizations that send event update emails to all users or click No to include organizations that do not sent event update emails to all users.
Alternatively, you can leave the field set to All to include both types of organizations. - In the Product field, select the products that you want to include in the report.
When a product is selected it is added to the Product field. You can click X to remove that product from the Product field. Alternatively, you can leave the Product field set to All to include all products in the report. - In the Attribute field, select the product attributes that you want to include in the report.
When an attribute is selected, it is added to the Attribute field. You can click X to remove that product from the Attribute field. Alternatively, you can leave the Attribute field set to All to include all products in the report. - Click Download Report to run the report.
The report is downloaded to your default download folder. Browse to the download folder and double-click the report to open it. If your web browser supports it, you can click on the download in your browser’s download status bar.
Data Item Report
The Data Item Report is available to the Customer IAM Admin role.
- To access the report, click the Reporting button on the Home page.
- In the Report Type list, select Organization Level.
- In the Report Name field, select Data Item Report.
- In the Org Default Send Event Update Email field, select Yes to include organizations that send event update emails to all users or click No to include organizations that do not sent event update emails to all users.
Alternatively, you can leave the field set to All to include both types of organizations. - In the Attribute field, select the product attributes that you want to include in the report.
When an attribute is selected, it is added to the Attribute field. You can click X to remove that product from the Attribute field. Alternatively, you can leave the Attribute field set to All to include all products in the report. - In the Data Item Profile field, type a data item profile name that exists for the organization.
You can type a minimum of the first 2 characters of the data item profile to populate the list with organizations with data item profiles that begin with those first 2 characters. The more of the data item profile you type, the more the list of matching data item profiles is narrowed. Locked User Report
The Locked User Report is available to the Customer IAM Admin role.
- To access the report, click the Reporting button on the Home page.
- In the Report Type list, select Organization Level.
- In the Report Name field, select Locked User Report.
- In the User Locked field, select Yes to include only locked users, No to include only unlocked users, or All to include both locked and unlocked users in the report.
When a status is selected, it is added to the User Locked field. The Dayforce User Authorization Report is available to the Customer Admin role.
- To access the report, click the Reporting button on the Home page.
- In the Report Type list, select User Management.
- In the Report Name field, select User Authorization Report.
- In the User Email Comm Preference field, select one of the following options:
- All – include users with any email communications preference
- All Emails – include users that receive all emails
- No Emails – include users that receive no emails
- Product Emails Only – include users who receive product emails only
- Compliance Emails Only – include users who receive compliance emails only
- In the User Default Send Event Update Email field, select Yes to include users that have the Send Event Update Emails option enabled or select No to include users that do not have the Send Event Update Emails option enabled. Alternatively, you can leave the option set to All to include users with the option either enabled or disabled.
- In the Product field, select the products that you want to include in the report.

Sorting Reports in Microsoft Excel Top
When viewing report results in IAM, you can change the default sort order by clicking a header column in the report to sort by that column. You are limited to sorting by one column at a time in IAM. If you want to sort by multiple columns, you can download the report into Microsoft Excel and convert the report to a normal range. Use the steps below to convert the report to a normal range in an Excel spreadsheet.
- In Excel, select a cell in the report.
- Click the Design tab.
- Click Convert to Range.
